Almost two decades after comedian Robin Ince’s original idea to mash up science with comedy, music and culture in a new variety show, Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless/Curious People and Robin and Brian's Christmas Compendium of Reason are still here brightening the dark days of winter with a joyous celebration of all things curious and creative. This feature length documentary charts the evolution of those pioneering and legendary science variety nights that have attracted legions of fans both on and off the stage and raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity. With loads of exclusive interviews and never before seen behind the scenes footage we look at how one person's 'stupid idea' ended up changing the shape of science communication and entertainment forever, moving science from the classroom to arenas.

With input from an eclectic mix of scientists, engineers, sportspeople (and about thirty thousand snails) the film focuses on the many incarnations of speed and how it affects us all on land, sea, sky, space and even in our thoughts.

Verónica, a middle-aged highschool history teacher, leads a non eventful life: she has grownup children, grandchildren and a less than perfect marriage. This dynamic seems to be the only thing she can hold on to, as she battles a terminal illness. As she reluctantly accepts her fate, she meets Eva, an irreverent and misunderstood new student who unknowingly injects some life and enthusiasm back into her and provides her with the tools to deal with her destiny.

Terry Jones and Michael Palin revisit their "pre-Python" sketch show from 1969 which has sadly been wiped by the BBC. At the time, in 2014, only 2 episodes were known to exist. Palin and Jones re-shot wrap-arounds and aired remaining sketches from the show, taken from Jones' own private collection. In October 2023, the remaining episodes have been found.

Set in a Norwegian hamlet, an idealistic physician discovers that the town's hot springs are contaminated. But with the community relying on the spa for tourist dollars, his warning to the powers-that-be falls on deaf ears.

Ibsen wrote An Enemy of the People as a direct response to the public's outcry over his earlier play Ghosts. Channeling his feelings into on Dr. Stockman, whose single voice of reason is drowned out by those with paranoid and ulterior interests, Ibsen had no qualms remarking on the irrational nature of the masses and the corrupt political systems which encourage them.

When a scientist learns that his town's lucrative springs present a serious health threat, the community refuses to listen to him.
